Yeah, that’s why I try to buy physical or at least DRM-free copies of games whenever I can

If not, well, I can buy it regardless to support the devs and if I lose access to it there are… other means

But with stuff like Game Pass and game streaming that’s gonna become harder and harder

Yeah I feel that. I’ve recently started collecting physical copies of older consoles and games for nostalgia reasons and its incredible how nice it is to just boot up and play games without having to worry about internet, logging into or creating a new account just to play games (looking at you Ubisoft), etc.

This reminds me, a bunch of people claim that the only reason anyone would ever prefer physical copies is for nostalgia, but like, I’m from Eastern Europe and while I did have physical copies of a sort growing up, they were nothing like what actual copies are like.

They were like 5 games crammed into a CD usually by ripping stuff like cutscenes and music, with the names of the games written in pen on a sheet of paper or in marker on the CD, that you bought from random market stalls lmao

Oh my god that brings me back. My dad used to travel all over the world for work, and he would bring back bootleg games and movies. Those were the good old days. Ripping DVDs on old HP computers running XP lol. Now that’s a nostalgia trip for me.
